Challenge and Champions

Challenge and Champions (C&C) is a 3 week program of academic, social and fitness instruction for rising 6th-8th graders on the Emory University campus. The goal of C&C is to provide an enrichment curriculum that teaches academic skills and content, independent learning skills, physical education skills, social problem-solving behaviors, and habits that will promote health and fitness.

Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks & Recreation Department

The Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks & Recreation Department was invited by the southeast Georgia countywide district to begin afterschool programs in schools in 1989. At that time, 89 children from five elementary schools enrolled in the program—now, 670 students from all nine elementary schools participate.

In July 2007, this program was awarded National Accreditation status by the National Accreditation Association, which signifies that this program meets the 144 standards included in the NAA Standards for Quality School-Age Care.
