The VOX Newspaper is Atlanta’s only city-wide, teen-run forum for free-expression and information sharing, reaching 80,000 youth through more than 300 local schools and organizations serving teens. Teenagers join VOX to express what’s burning inside of them, to be in a safe social place, to connect with peers and the Atlanta community, and to learn how to write, take photographs, use computers, design a publication, and work on a team. In addition to the newspaper, teens work on VOX's teen-driven Web site (www.voxrox.org), can participate in mentoring activities, such as one-on-one coaching, job shadowing and field trips. VOX also offers a summer internship program and community building workshops where teens take what they learn at VOX and teach it to peers in partnership with other nonprofits. Youth workers and teachers can sign up to distribute VOX or receive one free workshop.
