GAIC Releases First Statewide Report
The Current State of Afterschool in Georgia - Building a Strong Foundation

The GAIC announces the release of the first statewide report, The Current State of Afterschool in Georgia - Building a Strong Foundation. This report was developed by a task force of over 40 partners from child and youth serving organizations in Georgia and created with generous funding from the Children and Youth Coordinating Council. The Current State of Afterschool provides a critical scan of programs and unearths key issues that impact afterschool youth development opportunities. It is a first step towards creating a coordinated approach and infrastructure to support high-quality afterschool options for children and families across the state. The report sets an Action Agenda that outlines steps policymakers, business leaders, youth development specialists, parents, and concerned citizens can take to move the vision of afterschool in Georgia toward becoming a reality for all of Georgia’s kids. To download a copy of the report, please visit our website at www.afterschoolga.org. For hard copies of the report, please e-mail info@afterschoolga.org or call 404-527-7232.
