“I really didn’t know what I was capable of, until I came here.” – a Georgia Zero Robotics student

GSAN is pleased to announce that we are currently recruiting summer programs in the metropolitan Atlanta area for an exciting STEM opportunity. Zero Robotics is an exciting 5-week summer program that introduces middle school students to computer programming, robotics, and space engineering, all while giving them hands-on-experience coding programming Synchronized Position Held, Engage, Reorient, Experimental Satellites (SPHERES) – bowling-ball sized spherical satellites used inside the International Space Station.

The Zero Robotics program is flexible and can be used to supplement an existing summer program, or as a standalone addition to a summer program. It is a 5 week, 15 hour/week minimum curriculum that can be adapted to a program’s schedule. Awardees will receive in-person and online training for staff members, free participation in the field day and finals event at Georgia Tech, the online curriculum and resources, and mini-grants to implement the program.

The application can be found by clicking here. Applications are due by 5:00 PM on Friday, March 18th and may be submitted via hard copy (hand-delivery or mail) or e-mailed to jwoltjen@georgiavoices.org. We look forward to working with you to inspire our middle school youth through space exploration. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us by email or at (404) 343-2353.
